The most cool way is to use an NFC-enabled object that will automatically bring your information up on someone’s smartphone by simply tapping it to the back of their phone. Your gift box includes three such devices, one metal card and two adhesive discs.

You can tap any one of these to the back of an NFC-enabled smartphone and your Digital Business Card will be displayed with contact information. The viewer can then tap to email you, call you, access your social media accounts, etc. There is also a button at the bottom of the screen that allows the recipient to download your DBC to their contacts app on their phone.

Nope. They all contain an NFC chip, and each of the chips is encoded with the link to your personal DBC. You really only need one of them. Use whichever you prefer. The card is of course easy to keep in a wallet and the discs are hand if you want to stick them to something such as the back of your phone or keychain.

In order for the NFC chip to work with a recipient's phone, it needs to have NFC (Near Field Communication) enabled. Most phones produced in the last few years have this built in (it’s the same technology used for touchless payments like ApplePay or Google pay). Some phone models keep this on all the time automatically but others may have a setting to turn it on.

The NFC “reader” is usually on the back of a phone but sometimes it is in different locations on the back, depending on the model. If it doesn't work the first time, try rubbing the card or disc higher or lower on the back of the phone. Also, if you are using the metal card, be sure to touch the phone with the the back of the card (the plastic side with the FROM NFC symbol against the back of the phone, not the side with the QR code).

If it still doesn’t work, you can see whether NFC might possibly be disabled on the phone or use one of the alternate methods.

Yes! There are a several!

1. On the FRONT of the card there is a QR code. You can have the recipient scan that code using the camera on their phone and it will take them to your digital business card. This is a good approach to try next if their phone isn't reading the NFC chip.
2. Also, if you tap the card or disc to your OWN phone it will bring up your card on your phone. At the top of the card is that same QR code. You can have the recipient scan the QR code from the screen of your phone. In fact, if you bookmark your card you can use this to share your information with someone even if you don't have the NFC device handy.
3. Several other methods that also work remotely is to share the secret url to your DBC via email or text.

When you first set up your card, you will be asked to create a password. You can then log in with this password anytime to edit your contact information.

No, unfortunately that is not how contact apps work on smartphones. The phone takes a copy of the information at the time of download. We do however include in the information downloaded to your recipient’s contact book the link to “update” the card. So if you make a change, and they go to their address card for you and tap that link, it will re-download the card and update their contact app.

Your DBC is located at a url that contains a random number in it, so it's unlikely anyone would be able to find it easily. Only people with this “secret” url will have access to the contact information. The page that contains this information is flagged to tell Google and other search bots not to include these pages in search results, so they should not appear there either. Nevertheless, the profile is on the internet, so bear that in mind. Just like your physical business card could get passed to someone you don't anticipate, someone could share your secret url and anyone who has it would have access to the information you put into your DBC.
